INFO

AcuNotes® is a simple yet comprehensive compilation of Acupuncture points, indications, localization, and other pertinent mental notes and syndromes that have been organized by Dr. William Chen, M.D., F.A.C.S., into a powerful, easy-to-use application, compatible with any PDA device running the Palm OS® version 3.0 or higher. The data has been categorized according to the names of points, clinical ailments and entities that a patient may present (e.g.headaches).

There are currently 645 entries, all clinically relevant and concise, and no more than a one screen page description on your PDA. They are meant to be "brain-joggers" or on-the-spot reminders of point selection and combinations of points and are not meant to replace a textbook's encyclopaedic wealth of information, which all students and practitioners most likely have a multitude of in their study. Its usefulness lies in its compact size, lightning speed, and remarkable ease of use. Using the powerful "find" function, users can instantly find even a single keyword among all the contents of its data files.

The target audiences for AcuNotes® are students of the healing professions (MDs, D.O., DDS, MBBS, physical therapists, chiropractors, students and clinical practitioners of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine), and particularly trained practitioners who know the indications but have not used them enough to rote memorize them. Some practitioners may feel awkward pulling out a thick textbook in front of a patient to look for the point. Here is where the Palm excels, as you can still look professional pulling a Palm from your shirt pocket, then scribble in the point or condition by letters (e.g.LU, Lu,or lu,or even just "L" for Lung Channel). Your handheld device will instantly indicate what points to use.

The application was also designed to allow users to add, update and modify the information according to their specific needs, so that the more you use AcuNotes®, the more you'll actually get out of it. We even encourage users to submit new points and syndromes for us to evaluate for future updates.
